Women's Carpentry June 2nd - 4th

We are pleased for the opportunity to share with you about Wanosh Forest Gardens and Healing Ground, (formerly known as Abuela Gardens) fiscally sponsored by the Cloud Forest Institute, a non profit 501 c(3). We are an educational forest community center for regenerative earth skills and the healing arts. We ground the vision by aligning the heart, health, and hands.

We offer hands-on, skills based workshops and gatherings that span from watershed regeneration, to natural building and more! Most of these workshops also thread the internal arts as basic tools for meeting a chaotic world and focusing our energy into positive solutions. This June we will be hosting a round pole timber framing workshop on a 10x12 gable roofed structure. The small diameter round poles were harvested in relation to fire prevention and watershed regeneration work. We will cover all the basics from pole selection to harvest/processing, foundations, and frame. The last day of the workshop we will assemble the frame.

As the world seems to get crazier and crazier the solutions remain surprisingly simple. They just require us to show up and do the work of stewardship. Most of what we offer you already intuitively know, we just develop and hone your skills to meet the challenges we face with a grounded, practical and confident approach. We are inspired to see what we can do here in Mendocino County with local resources and community to (re)design what an ecologically connected community looks and feels like. We like to imagine when we have adapted to using only locally produced building materials, eating chemical free, locally grown food, having a community practice of controlled burning, and retrofitting and developing our built environment with Water at the center.
